I did a test shoot for my project proposal focusing on the use of powder paint; however I also incorporated the makeup I had envisioned, shown below. The cool toned natural lighting has given the white makeup a blue hint; however I felt the makeup portrayed innocence and purity and was true to colour in the studio. I applied white supra colour over the eyebrows using a disposable mascara wand, giving the dark hairs a dull, grey look. I will therefore colour correct the eyebrows with possibly a red/pink supra colour so that the eyebrows look brighter and lightweight. I gave my model matte skin; however I would like to experiment with giving her a luminous, dewy glow to add an ethereal touch. I did not contour in this look because I wanted the highlighted areas to achieve a natural looking contour; however her features looked slightly flat and unflattering so I will add a subtle contour with a grey toned powder to ensure no warmth is added.

Once the powder paint had been thrown over the face all her features were completely covered and disguised, which is what I had hoped as I want the bright colours of the paint to completely indulge and embrace the model; however I still want her femininity to shine through. I was inspired by the editorial image above to add oversized white, wispy eyelashes to either the top or bottom eyelashes. The eyelashes above look almost like feathers, giving a soft ethereal look, highlighting her escape from discrimination. I will apply white supra colour to her top eye lashes and then apply white fake eye lashes to her lower lash line to give an editorial and rebellious look. In the image above the eyelashes are slightly lower than her natural lash line; however I will blend my model's eyelashes with the fake ones as there will be many close-ups of her face and I want it to look natural. I was also inspired to add a glossy finish to her white lips to give them more dimension and to complement her youthful, dewy glow. As with all other looks the model's left eye will look blind to represent the lasting effects of discrimination; even after it has stopped the memories will always haunt you.
