She Look 2 Styling Inspiration |
She Look 3 Styling Inspiration |
I was hoping Sofia would have done some sketches of each look by this point so that we could easily see what works and what doesn't; however we used the inspiration images to discuss the best we could. I think I should have specified I wanted her to bring sketches because it was confusing when we were both trying to describe our visions without any physical imagery to reference. I made it clear to her that I wanted her to send me some sketches before she started making anything to make sure I was happy with it.
I haven't collaborated with a stylist before so I was unsure what the budget would be. Sofia suggested I transferred her £200 so that she could buy the materials when she was in Rome and then refund me any excess money. She said this would be easier than asking for money to purchase each individual piece or material, which I agreed with; however it made me extremely nervous to transfer this amount of money. I was even more adamant that she showed me her sketches before she started making anything to make sure I was happy. She said she was planning on buying the base of each outfit and then working with a tailor to make add ons, for example to add shoulder pads to a white blazer. This really excited me as I didn't want the outfits to look wearable or be something that was easily accessible from the high street as I want a more avant-garde feel with abstract styling.
I discussed my concern with She's hairstyle for Look 2, with the caged hair design, so we agreed that the styling would have a high neck to cover any seams. We also discussed that I have decided to include strips of leather into She's hair for Look 3 so I would like there to be some leather in the styling as I think it gives the white colour palette some strength and will complement with leather in the hair. I said I would send her the dancer's styling because the dancer's styling and She's Look 3 will be edited together to create the final scene so I want them to complement each other. We also agreed I would send her the images of the model's hair and makeup for each look so she would make sure the styling and beauty aspect worked together.
We agreed that there would be a fitting for both outfits on Monday 13th March to give Sofia time to alter anything if necessary. I will also do the model's full makeup and hair for each look to make sure the complete look is how I had envisioned it. I would hate to combine the beauty and fashion on the day of the shoot to then find out they don't complement each other! I also confirmed that the first shoot with She's Look 3 is Saturday 25th March and the second shoot is Sunday 2nd April.
